"Avada Kedavra!" River cast the killing spell so many times in his life time, it was just another spell. He was supposed to destroy the hideout in the magical alleyway, leading to one of the many, many enemy bunks. River was supposed to have people helping him, but they never showed up. Now he was killing and trying to escape, managing to wreck the bunk though, which overall completed the mission. How destroyed was the bunk? Beyond magical repair. And that was thanks to him being able to shoot spells and hide in wrecks at the same time. He didn't blow up the place, that just wasn't discreet. But before they knew it, the place was in wrecks trying to catch a sneaky little red panda and a human at the same time. Both causing havoc in their own way.
River was laughing, running around shooting fire spells all around. He stopped being discreet when he realized the hideout was magically hidden. No muggle or wizard would see the fire, unless you're an enemy, so why hide? Enemy mafia, O'Brien or not, River will make sure their business flops to the ground. Unfortunately, River found himself battered up by spells and cuts, all battered up even as an animagus. Before he realized it he was all banged up in a non-sexual way.
So he escaped.
He didn't think he was going to end up getting chased but here he was, getting chased by like twenty men that he had yet to kill. But he clearly could kill them easily in his animagus state. Just let them chase him around for a little while in the debris. In twenty minutes twenty men became four. Four men. This was a disgrace! River couldn't afford to think of that. He got lucky this time, he knew. So he was then getting out of the hideout, the men following him and out for his head, in his animagus state.
His little animagus self squeaked as he ran through the very long and dark alleyway. River looked behind, they were still chasing him even now. Man they do not give up, do they? He kept on running, his little padded feet growing hot and he knew his hands and feet were going to be blistered so bad. His red coat was sticky and slick with his own blood and others' blood. He couldn't afford to stop and shake what he could off.

Nixie was out and about that evening, having to do some rather late grocery shopping and errand running after her tutoring sessions with a couple of students had run late. She felt so helpless having to hold tutoring sessions nearly every night because the students had such a hard time understanding her. River had done well to teach her a few things on their outing, but it would take more than just one outing to get her grammar in order. Speaking of River, it had been a few days or so since she saw him - after her crazed breakdown where she assaulted both him and Pietro for harming her students. The night that he promised her to try and not to hurt any more students, which she believed he would legitimately try to keep.
She found herself wondering how he was doing as she walked down the main street, but as she looked up ahead, she saw a furry little animal with a bushy, striped tail come scurrying out of an alleyway. The little creature looked hurt, and she felt bad for it, but... "Red panda?" She said aloud, confused as to how this one was in America. Though, witches and wizards tended to have rather bizarre pets, so she didn't think much else of it until a few men came bustling out of the alleyway on a rampage and pointed her out.
"Hey, lady!" One of the men called out to her. "Did you see a fury guy with a striped tail run through here?!"
The men were clearly outraged with the creature, but she figured he was simply trying to escape the abuse they had clearly put him through. Even she could see the blood on his fur from yards away, so she wasn't about to throw the creature under the bus with these guys. "Yes," she said with a nod in the direction back behind her. "That way." The men bought her lie quite easily and were soon running off in the opposite direction, which allowed her an opportunity to investigate further. The red panda was wounded, and she figured it would likely die if it didn't receive medical attention soon.
At this point, she was glad to have transfigured all of her groceries into pens and stuffed them into the tiny backpack on her back. She followed along after the mammal and noticed it beginning to bolt across an open field. She was going to have to be fast and stealthy if she wanted to catch him, though, so with light footsteps, she took off after it.

River didn't look back, he simply ran as fast as he could to where he was safe. I've definitely didn't know his lady friend Nixie just helped him out with the chase. But he didn't know that, River only knew only one thing right now, thanks to his animal instinct strengthening being an actual Red Panda. And that instinct was telling him to run.
River ran through the open field, hearing someone chase after him. He figured someone was still chasing him, and it was one of the croonies, and not one of his coworkers. He squeaked again once he tried to get up a tree to hide. But River's paws were too hurt to even attach his claws to the tree, allowing Nixie to catch up. When he realized he wasn't going to be able to get up the tree, he ran again, he ran as fast as he could, but the gap between him and nixie wasn't big now.
River dead clearly heading for the direction of the school. Because that was his safe place. They wouldn't go where he had every other ally there. Or kids. Because the croonies weren't kids anymore. They don't have an excuse to come in anyways. But he seemed barely able to run much further, leaving bloody trails now. Bloodied paw prints, it hurt to run much further.

Despite how short the legs of the red panda were, Nixie found herself struggling to gain ground on him. But the more it rushed, the more she pushed her limits and picked up the pace. It was bobbing and weaving, seemingly panicked - not that she could blame it - before trying to climb up a tree towards the edge of the field. They were nearing the school, which she supposed was a good thing given that she knew the area better around the grounds than anywhere else, but she frowned as the furball wasn't even able to make it up into the tree. It was slowing down and bleeding profusely, and she hoped it wouldn't run from her much longer.
Finally with all of her muscles working together to give her that final boost of speed, she managed to catch up to the mammal. She wasn't entirely sure how to grab it since she had never handled one before, so she figured grabbing it by the scruff of its neck would be the best bet to not hurt him or allow him to freak out and hurt her either.
Immediately after snatching him up, she held her arm stretched out in front of her but turned the red panda to where he could see her. "Hey, hey," she spoke softly, trying to soothe the squirming animal. "It's okay. I won't hurt you," she promised before realizing her grip was slipping from the back of its neck, and if he got away, she wouldn't have enough energy to catch him again. So she brought him in towards her chest, winding both of her arms around him - careful to avoid his injuries - to keep him in place and steady.

River squeaked as someone got him from his scruff, panicking as his tiny little legs tried to kick and get away from his abductor. But that didn't work, his tiny and sharp claws couldn't reach the person anyways, and he wasn't facing the abductor either. He kept squeaking and squeaking, moving every part of his body to get off and try to escape. But it seemed futile and maybe he was going to die. And he definitely didn't have the option to turn back to a human, because then he would be even more fucked if the enemy had him by the neck.
River let himself calm down a little bit, that way he could think about what to do for a second and land a surprise freak out later where he would scratch the fucker up or something along those lines. For now he was making panda noises, trying to cry out in hopes that this one would have a heart. But that wasn't the case, he figured. He was waiting for some really buff man teasing him about being caught and crying out like a little panda. But in reality, human River wasn't crying. The fuck he would, this was just his death call, if death had arrived to take him. River didn't cry, it was also one of those things he had long outgrown before he was eight. Crying.
It wasn't one of the croonies. He knew that voice pretty well. Oh shit.
He didn't know what was worse, but he figured he could play this off and live to see the next day if he played it off right. But this was a more dangerous person, he knew. Hopefully she'd think he was some deformed raccoon that was red coated. River wriggled at first to see if he could escape again, but her figured Nixie should be renamed as the iron fist. She had a grip and fists like iron, honestly. He saw her when she turned him around and that made him stiffen some more, he should be comforted but the fact that she probably would drop him as soon as she realized that the red panda was him... Yeah, not in his state right now. He wouldn't be able to take another beating, honestly.
Blood was dripping a bit on his tail.
He didn't know what to do when she brought him to her chest, wriggling more more before realizing he was fucked and shouldn't even try. He realized make the best of situation, breasts. He was like, literally brought to the holy grail. So what he did was rest the side of his head in her chest, nuzzling it with his tiny nose a little bit first before simply resting his head on it. He let out a twittering and tweeting before quieting. Just to let anyone know, he didn't enjoy this. He was just making the best out of this situation... Yeah, maybe not having to walk all by himself to the school wasn't that bad. Or getting carried by a pretty lady, as well as the head rest. After all, he was a red panda, not a human.
Let her heal him, then escape as soon as he got the chance. Hopefully she wouldn't keep him as a pet...

The little bugger would not calm down, and she was beginning to grow worried for its well being. Blood was beginning to drip a bit more heavier from its wounds, and she sighed a bit at the sight of it. It would break her heart if she wasn't able to save the poor thing, so as soon as it calmed itself down against her chest, she pulled her wand out of her back pocket - cradling the animal in one arm. "Okay," she began, tapping the wand on the end of its nose to sort of show that it wouldn't hurt him. "This will make better. Be still." Her dialogue, though broken as usual, was calm and as comforting as she could manage as she ran the tip of her wand over the wounds.
She watched as the flesh melded back together and the bleeding stopped, but it would take at least a day or so for him to not feel any more pain. He probably needed to be fed and watered - even though she had no idea what a red panda would eat - so she figured the best move would be for her to take him back to her apartment with her. "Okay, sleep now." She smiled down at the ball of fur and cast one more spell to put him to sleep, which would allow her to carry him the distance a lot easier.
Once she arrived at her apartment, she gathered some blankets and made a bed for the creature on her couch before placing him on top of them. He was a cute little thing and probably exhausted, but she removed the spell from him so that he could potentially eat and drink if he wished. "Hello," she said in a gentle voice, smiling down at him. "I do not know red pandas. What do you eat?" She asked, even though she knew he wouldn't be able to tell her. She simply scratched behind one of his ears and set the water bowl in front of him. "Meat? Veggies?"

River Had wrinkled his nose as she tapped her wand on the end of his nose. Well that was a surprise on him, he made a weird noise then. As soon as Nixie ran the tip of her wand to his wounds, River growled and squeaked loudly. He actually didn't feel any pain, but if he were to play a regular animal... Well he would have to act out, right? So that is what he did, act as an animal. It was the only thing he could do for now. Besides, he was being healed, that was a big plus, especially since he was bleeding heavily.
In all honestly he planned to escape as soon as Nixie would sleep, he had already figured a cutie like him would be too good to pass up as a pet got at least a few days. Suddenly she waved her wand, and he felt mighty sleepy. He was starting to worry he might shift back when he was sleeping, then he'd get the death sentence from her, that's for sure. And he wouldn't want another death on Cascade to happen pretty soon after the whole Gawain fiasco. He'd be getting it from the pits of hell itself if he allowed that to happen.
When he woke up, he was on top a pile of blankets. He looked at himself. Good, he was still a red panda, surprisingly he always changed back when he slept. He guessed it wasn't in the case of sleeping caused by a spell. He saw his coworker looking down at him and he backed up a bit as she asked him what he ate. River had a burning temptation to shrug, but red pandas don't just shrug. He felt a comfortable sensation in his ears as she scratched behind his ears, emitting a twittering purr from him. Oops, he definitely didn't plan on enjoying that.
He shook his head to take her hand off of him and looked at the water bowl. He had never drank water as an animagus. But it couldn't hurt now, could it? River looked at his reflection in the water, realizing how bloody he still looked. The blood dried up, leaving his coat tangled and still a bit sticky, leaving blood on the pile. He lowered his head and dipped down. His whole face planting to the water bowl as he tried to drink. Okay, that's definitely how you don't drink water from a bowl. River lifted his head up and shook his head to rid of the water, annoyed. Well, he was born a man, not an animal. Fuck the bowl.

The purr that emitted from the wounded animal caused Nixie to snicker softly as she smiled fondly down at the creature. He shook her hand away after a moment of scratching, and she retracted her hand before watching him go in for the water. His head submerged completely in the water, causing a startled expression on his face and a laugh to escape Nixie's lips. "You okay?" She snickered, shielding herself as the creature began to shake the water from its fur - sending it flying in a million different directions.
Perhaps she ought to just focus on getting the little guy to sleep first. He would certainly be alright without eating for the night, and in the morning she could figure out exactly what he usually ate. "Alright, Fuzzy," she began, coining him a quick and easy nickname, "We go to bed now." She reached down cautiously and lifted the animal as carefully as she could, turning down the hallway and carrying him towards her bedroom. There would be no way for her to keep an eye on him in a different room, so she figured she could just let him sleep on her bed for the time being. So as she entered the bedroom, she set him down on one side of the bed before stepping towards her dresser.
She slipped out of her dress with a heavy sigh, revealing scars and bruises all over her body. The bruises were fresher from breaking up fights in the alleyways over the last few weeks, but the scars? Those were old and ran deep, leftover from the war. But she hardly even noticed them anymore; they were just a part of her at this point. An ugly, hideous part of her that she could never erase. So she grabbed a sleep dress and pulled it over her head, running a hand through her hair and stepping back towards the bed where she got in on the opposite side of the red panda.
"You sleep," she said to him sternly, patting the pillow next to her own.

River hissed at Nixie as she snickered at him, rude ass-bitch. But hey, she had a pretty laugh, not sexy, not cute, but pretty. He wanted to tell her how cute it was, but red pandas don't really talk. He wrinkled his nose as she called him fuzzy, he wasn't fuzzy, at least not in his human form. Right now he was fuzzy, cute, and awful. He let her lift him to bed, thinking he was going to sleep on the floor or something. Apparently that wasn't the case since she placed him on her bed. He stretched out in her bed, his tail lifting up and stiffening, noticing the blood dried on his body. Oh Merlin, he needed that stretch.
He made a noise as she slipped out of her dress. Ooh, he liked that... Just because he was an animal doesn't mean he wasn't a pervert. River then looked more closely as he noticed the bruises, spotting scratches and scars. She was hurt, he knew a fresh bruise when he saw one. But the scars, they looked like they've been there for a while. But then again, she was the Black Widow, a scar or two should be there... But the bruises? Yeah, no. He needed to get in the bottom of that, he decided.
River looked at Nixie as she patted the pillow, but he trotted up and circled around the sleeping spot he had chosen, which was literally right next to her, next to her breasts.

Nixie curled up on her side after sliding beneath the covers, and while she patted the pillow beside hers for him to sleep, he apparently wasn't a fan of the fluffyness of her pillow and instead curled up at her chest level. "You're peculiar little thing, Fuzzy," she said with a light smile to the animal. It was still so strange that he was here, and while she wanted to ponder the idea further, she was lacking the energy to do so. So many fights had been breaking out in the streets lately, and each one was beginning to wear on her further and further. "You be good, yes? In morning, we find what to do with you."
And with that, she reached out to scratch behind his ear once more before bringing her hand back and closing her eyes. Almost instantly, she was asleep - finding herself dreaming of a certain man who had managed to stir up her emotions and affections as of late..

River shivered, shaking a little bit before twittering and squeaking at Nixie's words, using his tail to cover his body for the most part. He was lucky that he was cute, warm, and fuzzy, able to fit and sleep in her bed and next to this wonderful lady. Imagine if he was a buffalo or something big instead, he wouldn't be able to be this charming, that's for sure. River purred as she scratched behind his ear again, liking that. Merlin, he was such an animal sometimes. He closed his eyes, convincing himself that he'd wait out for her to fall asleep to escape. But he kind of ruined that plan and fell asleep to.
Maybe it was the estrogen, yeah. That's what it was that made him all sleepy and... blame the woman.
Yeah, so River kind of transfigured back to a human when the daylight broke. Shirtless, with an arm around a woman's waist and a hand in her inner thigh. Of course he was still bloodied and he had pants on, which was a little singed from the fire he caused the night before. He looked like he had a pretty decent sleep.

Nixie was out like a light and didn't stir whatsoever until the next morning. As she slowly came to, she could recognize the feeling of a man's arm being draped around her. Was she still dreaming? A familiar scent filled her senses, and she pinned it as that of River's but couldn't make out a logical explanation as to why he would be in her bed. Still, something inside her heart caused her to snuggle in closer to that warmth and curl up against his chest before passing back out for about another hour.
Once that hour had passed, she felt a warm sensation between her legs, which was something she hadn't experienced in about four years, so she slowly opened her eyes to take in a man's presence. "What..." Her eyes shot open, taking in a bloodied River, and she scrambled backwards and out of the bed with a scream. "River!" She shrieked from the floor. "What the... How did you get in here?!" She demanded, completely bewildered by the man's presence in her bed.

River only heard obnoxious shrieking and his eyes slightly opened. "Hm?" he saw daylight from the nearest window, thinking he was still in his own apartment, still a half-asleep because Merlin he was fucking tired from last night's mission. But he realized when he looked down that these definitely weren't his bed sheets, and the sight of Nixie on the floor, that definitely wouldn't be happening on his room (yet), because if it did, you bet your ass she would be naked and moaning.
Shit. He forgot to run away, didn't he?
He groaned and the only thing he could say was, "I was cold?" It didn't seem to sound very good after it left his mouth, his mind definitely had other plans. He didn't know what he would do now, every option he could think of after his words were just about stupid. Plus, he was still all bloodied up so he had explaining to do and he cursed himself mentally for letting himself slip. He could only look at her in her sleep dress, wow... She was very pretty.

What in the hell was going on here? Nixie was freaking out, and when she freaked out... Well, she freaked out. Her anxiety was bad, and the initial startling caused her blood pressure to shoot through the roof as she tried to settle her erratic breathing. How had River ended up in her bed? None of it made any sense. There was a red panda in her bed, all bloody and hopefully on its way back to recovery after she healed it, but now... There was a bloody River in her bed instead.
"You... You're animagus, aren't you?" She spoke, her chest raising and falling rapidly. She was finally able to push herself up to her feet and adjusted her sleep dress. Oh goodness, River had seen her in her undergarments the night before... Now that certainly made her cheeks red. "That little red panda... Was you?"

River shook his head, "What red panda? Red panda, what? Don't they like live in China or something?" Yeah, he was completely ignoring the fact that if there was anyone in this school who was an animagus, it would probably be the Transfiguration teacher, which was none other than him. "Now uh, I should probably go back to my own housing," he murmured, rolling off the bed. He snuck a glance at Nixie to see if she was okay, well she wasn't, obviously. You don't just get your co-worker to suddenly appear next to you holding you inappropriately after a night of saving a red panda.
He knew he fucked up, he accidentally fell asleep before he got around to sneaking out. Tch, amateur mistake. It shamed him because he thought he was just about getting along so well with Nixie, now he fucked that up again. Damnit, why did he have to look so cute, fuzzy, and awful at the same time? Why couldn't he be a yak? Then at least River wouldn't have to be in bed and freak her out, touching her inappropriately...
Fuck him and fuck his portable adorableness...
