PERSONALITY Viola is a dreamer with intense curiosity. Her character has a heart of gold; therefore is honest, sympathetic, and selfless. However, like most progressive women of the 1920s, Even with her laid back self, Viola is unafraid to express traits such as being outspoken, fearless, and somewhat eccentric. Her character can easily be described as a free-spirit with defiant characteristics. Although many would consider the following to be negative, Viola sees them as beneficial attributes; restless and bored. She expresses wisdom beyond her years. Usually acts as a shoulder to cry on, Viola has trouble admitting her own problems, but isn’t ashamed of her faults. Independence is something she strives for, as well as emotional strength. HISTORY Viola is used to being lied to. Most children are tricked by their parents playing Santa Claus, but Viola was never that fortunate. Instead, it was her nature she was neglected from; she was a witch. Neglection, also, was something Viola was used to. As much as she’d hate to admit it, she was somewhat satisfied with the Prohibition. It wasn’t something she supported, but it gave her some peace of mind. Never would she agree to stealing someone’s freedoms, but liquor kept her father away from the family and, in turn, made her mother mental absent. Of course, the alcohol in her life only made things worse. Her father had quite the mean left hook when he was intoxicated; Viola, herself, was never struck by her father. No, her mother was the one who hit her in retaliation of being beat by her husband. One could only imagine the surprise on her Muggle father’s face when he came home one night all liquored up and a panicked Viola made a candle complete melt into a puddle after being wholly engulfed by the flame. He blamed the drink, her mother blamed the heat of the wax. The fighting the couple had told a different story, usually their fighting was the only way Viola figured things out. She was never truly able to find any source of comfort in her home, other than poetry. Even the silence screamed. The acceptance letter Viola received was used as her one way ticket to freedom. She holds onto a thin thread of hope, hope to get a ticket that’ll take her even further away after from the chaos of home sweet home. Did you read the rules? Is Destiel a gas...? |
