Nixie wasn't able to argue with Finley much because, ultimately, he was right. Both sides had to do things they weren't proud of, so she simply nodded slightly to agree with him and let the conversation die off. After all, they were here to unwind, right? Not to sit here and dwell on things they couldn't change.
He mentioned that the two men had been troublemakers as boys in the school, and that brought a light smile to her face. Childhoods were supposed to be filled with bouts of mischief and good memories and friends, so it was nice to think that these two had seen some of that goodness in their younger years. For her, that happiness was short-lived, so she knew what it was like to have it taken from her. "Well, you two would be in trouble in my class," she told them with a light laugh. "I have hard enough time teaching with accent, so no nonsense."
Finley asked her why she chose the States over England, and while she couldn't explain to him that England was too close to her home country where people might have a greater chance of discovering her identity, she shrugged lightly. "I wanted to see America," she told him with a nod. "Hogwarts didn't have opening anyway, so Academy it was."
