PERSONALITY River is a very proud member of the Antonucchi lineage, (taking on the last name of 'Holland' for safety purposes). And because of this, he can be quite an asshole... most of the time. But he has a good head on his shoulders, sometimes a little too big, sometimes just right. It pretty easy for someone like him not to be proud, after all he has money, women, status, brains, physical and magical strength to envy and more. He can be quite mean, irritable, and a cocky bastard, very flirtatious with women and sleeps around a lot, showing extreme charisma even, when needed at first glance, but River is not just that. The man is not just a higher-up for no reason, River takes the mob business very seriously. Extreme caution and lack of tolerance for any shit can easily be River's most known traits when it comes to the crime syndicate. River gives his loyalty to the Antonucchi Mafia, and nothing else. Business is business, after all, and when you don't pay the debts and play the game, you get killed in the most ruthless way possible. River is definitely a force to be reckoned with, for someone as young as him, he has already gained notoriety in the business for several unspeakable and inhumane acts, as well as knowing how to handle business very, very well. But of course, a man still has his flaws, right? In his legal job, River is very strict, though he treats both boys and girls in his class equally, knowing that the women can perform magic as good as the guys can, of course he knew this, Suki, his younger sister, was proof of that. He has little patience with the kids and drives everyone to do their best with his short and explosive temper, often putting responsibility in the students' shoulders. They don't know, most of them will never know, how difficult it gets out there in the world, so he might as well start letting them get a taste of that now. Of course, a lot of them compare him to his twin, and River compared to Pietro, the potions master, was a Hungarian Horntail Dragon. He was never bothered by what his students thought of him, he knew some of them will thank him later. River definitely has a strong relationship with his older twin, Pietro, sort of like the yang to his yin. He has so much respect for his other half, despite only being three minutes younger, River has looked up to his more thoughtful and logical brother and aspires to be more like him. He knows that he needs to be a bit more logical in a whole different sense rather than just being book-smart. And oh boy, does his brother have to drill that into his head, it was the only reason why it stuck out in his head. And while he does care for his safety, he doesn't worry much. He figures Pietro would make it out longer than he will in the family business. His sister Suki is the closest thing he has to a weakness. Though knowing she can do just as well as he can, surviving out in the workforce, there is still that brotherly worry that he can't help having. Needless to say, though inevitable that she would get caught up in the business, deep in his heart, he'd rather have her not be a part of the business. But it is the Antonucchi Mafia... "No one walks out unscathed." HISTORY He didn't know what it was, but he knew that he was going to be carrying on 'The Business' like the rest when he was a little kid. He knew exactly what was going on at such a young age. That there was evil in the world, and he was surrounded by it from birth. He didn't try to even escape from it. In fact, he was encouraged to embrace it as a lifestyle. He immediately knew what 'family' meant by the time he was 14, and did he work for 'family'. Family was what kept him loyal to the business, though not first-born or whatsoever, he still felt the need to be loyal, instilled into his head somewhat by his parents. He didn't mind though, it was to protect and claim what is theirs, and that is the power that comes into being New York City's biggest mafia. The former Fuego Antonucchi male has found his own uses in being a Transfiguration teacher in Cascade Academy, being quite fond and talented in Transfiguartion on his own, even going as far as using it in cold-blooded ways. He is very well known with various monikers regarding his strictness, and most famously: 'The meaner Holland'. River doesn't fear much for his life or for Pietro's and Suki's. He knew they'd make it fine out there. And with this, River strives out to do what is best for the mafia, and will stop at nothing to tear out every enemy they would come across, and in the most ruthless and brutal way as possible. But that's just how the mafia works, doesn't it? "A man who doesn't spend time with his family is not a man at all." |
