She really didn't like this. No not at all. She was sad, just her and no one else was sad. How long had it been since she had felt her own sadness? Last time had to be when she was nine. That was the last time she had been locked up in total isolation that not even the spirits could find her. She was all alone with just hr thoughts and times and she nearly went insane. Annabel almost forgot how painful it was to have your own feelings and fears. She was so focus on everyone else's all the time that she would forget how sad she was still on the inside, how broken and how much her heart would hurt for herself and others. Especially those who had also been mistreated in their lives by no fault of their own. Yet he was no sad so why should se be?
She nodded at his words, looking down feeling terribly confused. Everything hurt expect for him and she didn't like it. How do people do this all day? Just one set of feelings that are all your own and there is nothing to stop it. How do they cope? She had to be able to cope at one point in her life. She had to be able to handle her own emotions but she couldn't anymore and now there were tears rolling down her cheeks as she nodded.
"No I don't think it would be good for me." She needed one place really, where she could help those that need to be helped and surround herself with people who only felt happy thing so she never felt this empty hollowness inside that brought tears to her eyes and she didn't understand why. "How do you stop yourself when you feel sad?" She asked looking up as tears continued to fall. "I want this pain to stop but it's not..."

A smile was the only possible response to that question. Here was this girl, who was so used to feeling other people's pain that she felt his even when he didn't. Hoping that he wouldn't freak her out, or wasn't crossing some boundary that he had forgotten about, he got up from his leaf bed, and carefully, gently wrapped his arms around her. "Dealing with sadness on your own in hard. Some would claim that time is the only thing that can do that. But most people, most people find others to help. And they do help." He released the embrace, and got a handkerchief from his pocket, giving it to Annabel to dry her tears.
"You don't have to feel this sadness, Annabel. It's just a story. It happened a long way from here, to people who no longer truly exist." It really was easier to think of it as a story, a fable, something he'd made up to make her feel not as lonely. He thought of the happiest parts of his story, and other stories, and tried to use them to make her feel not as bad, but he knew that one's own emotions were dominant. If she were sad, all he could do was be there for her.

Without much warning Emyr came over to were she was sitting and wrapped his arms around her. For a second flinched away, because she wasn't use to someone touching her with no malicious intent. every time someone has touched her she's been hurt but no... This was the sort of touch one is suppose to want. It was warm and safe and Annabel even found herself leaning into him. She sniffed softly and closed her eyes. There was less sadness here, he was okay and she? Well maybe one day she can be okay for now this will do.
His words help too and the gentle way he helped clear up her tears and she smiled. "Thank you." she said softly before smiling softly. A small nod as she whipped at her cheeks. "yes i know... But its still sad." But... Now it was like a good sad. You get all worked up and then you just feel sort of good. Is that's why humans carry sadness with them into the other life? Because once its gone you feel so very good after? "You are a very special person Emyr with a very special engery never forget that."

"Don't worry about it. You're new to the whole feelings thing, at least in the way that most people do. Least I could do is help clean up the sadness I helped create." There was nothing much else he could say about it, not really. Not without letting himself start to feel those same things, and he knew how much it would take away from Annabel if his emotions intruded on one of her rare experiences with her own. So, instead, he sat back down near his leaf bed, back against a tree. Still smiling, but only just.
"I don't think I would mind being less special, really. It's become a habit more than a choice." He could feel himself growing rapidly more tired, worn out from exercising all of his self control in such a strict manner. He refused to let himself yawn though, Annabel sensing that she was being at all a burden would probably make her fly away faster than she had appeared.

Well she was new to the whole feeling her own feelings thing and having to cope with them. She wasn't new to feeling what everyone else around her was feeling and reacting to that. Is it funny that she thought that was easier than this? That she thought other people feelings were more simple than her own which just seemed all piled on top of each other and hurt in the worst sort of way. But now Emyr felt okay, just rather sleepy. An Annabel realized for the first time how late it was and how she kept him up. Just because she couldn't sleep doesn't mean she she stop him from getting any rest.
She gave Emyr a hug before standing up and dusting herself off. "Get some rest Emyr and thank you for everything. Sweet dreams and don't let the spirits bite." She teased before leaving the boy to his odd little nest and his odd little emotions. How strange he was.... Yet how nice and safe and sad. She left feeling slightly conflicted but in a good way if that was possible.
