Finley O'Brien
PERSONALITY Fin is a man of honor in a corrupt world, though that honor may not be what the normal person may think. Then again, what is normal about the O'Briens. Loyal to the family, Finley would die for any one of his siblings or cousins. Always quick with a joke, and to lend an ear to listen to someones problems, he is a genuinely caring person, with the firm belief that magic should never be used to harm, only to help others. That's not to say he has any qualms about using less... mystical means to teach someone a lesson. HISTORY Finley is the second oldest of the O'brien children, born in 1897, to Brigid and James O'Brien. James grew up quickly, learning the nuances of the family businesses at a young age, all the while keeping his childlike wonder of the world and the powers he possessed. At the age of 13 Finley was enrolled into the Cascade Academy, but fate would not allow him to stay in the school. In 1914 war broke out in Europe, and volunteers were called for from across the globe. For some young men, they did not wait for heir nation to call to them, but rather travelled to england and enlisted with the British army. At 17 years old, Finley O'Brien left the relative safety of the academy, his family, and the United States and joined the British Army to fight in France. Ever the one to shy away from violence, the decision shocked the family. To which Finley merely replied in a letter written from the muddy trenches of Flanders, Dear Father, mother, and Uncle Cormac, "In life we are all presented with choices. how can I call myself a man when other go and fight for what they believe, and I sit in safety? I can not live a life, knowing I could have made a difference for some poor soul in this man made hell. I only hope you can one day forgive me my choices. I love you all, Fin." Finley was lucky enough to survive the horrors of war, relatively unscathed, though he would never forget the men who had fallen at his side. This experience had the effect of dampening the young mans usual care free mentality. His devotion to the family grew only stronger, and with the birth of his Uncle Cormac's son, Fin set himself upon advancing the family's goals. Did you read the rules?
