Everything was set up properly, all that was needed now was for the action to start. She'd convinced one of the house elves to lie a clean pair of overalls on Hallie's bed with a letter attached. It was all very sneaky, and possibly a little bit manipulative, but she didn't think that Hallie would mind all that much. It was hardly mean spirited, and she seemed to have a good sense of humour. Besides, everyone could do with getting away from the hustle and bustle from the castle sometimes. For Elsie, it was becoming something to do when she couldn't hang out with Mary, whose busy timetable always seemed to manage to get busier somehow.
She was already half covered in mud from trying to check the Nifflers that had gone walkabout earlier that day, making sure they weren't covered in seeds or hadn't contracted some horrible disease that they could spread to the others. Given how fast they were, it could be a difficult job. At least you could get them to come with something even slightly valuable. Elsie didn't think that would quite be up Hallie's alley, especially not on a Saturday morning, they'd do work with the plants instead. If she came. Could you even ask something like that of someone you'd had one conversation with? Elsie shoved her worries down inside her, and got back to hoeing a particularly tough patch of ground.

Dear Hallie,
On the chance you haven't changed your mind or chickened out, there's always work to do in the gardens.
Love, Elsie
P.S. You have to come dressed the part
