This woman could walk. Bloody hell could this woman walk. Knight would have been lost in the sheer beauty of her gait had she not been walking over to him, but he caught himself and slipped an arm around her. Nothing untoward, oh no, this was the arm of a gentleman still escorting a lady. He thought about it though, if only briefly. He definitely thought about it. "Apparently indeed," he replied, raising an eyebrow at her instead of laughing. Suki had told him she was good for the money, but from the way she had handled herself he was starting to think that she had understated it.
"How would you even compare children? Their heights and hair and style and personality is all unfixed, it would be like buying the moon because it's pretty during an eclipse. Who knows if it'll stay like that?" He felt, rather than saw Suki pass him the money for the saxophone, and decided against their original plan. "No, not with this idiot," Knight whispered back, straining to not laugh at the idea of a magic guess. He passed the money back into her hands subtly. "Let him know that you could buy him and his store if you wanted, and it wouldn't even be a big deal to you."

Suki honestly couldn't think about comparing children, or adopting. It seemed to her that giving birth was like a mystery box. You never know what kind of terrible monster you would get. As he slipped his arm around her she listened to him, still not sure if using children was as serious as buying an instrument. Was it really that serious? She supposed so, guessing he's been in the business for so long, it was like, life to Knight. Suki had a long way to go in the pathway toward becoming a sideline cat.
She looked questionably to him as he passed the money back to her, what? What was going on with their plan, wasn't the whole plan supposed to be him as the front to buying? Now she's going to pay for herself? "Yeah, but I'm a woman!" she whispered to him, seriousness in her face, "You know he'd probably kick us out, and that saxophone was a good catch!" she whispered to him rapidly, her Italian accent slipping through, making itself more prominent.
Sure she probably can afford a lot of good things, probably this whole store if needed. She looked at Knight with confusion and a strong standing in her bright blue eyes. It was odd how three of the siblings had different eye colours. Suki had blue, River had brown, and Pietro had hazel green. It probably was weird genetics, but hey, all the more to their diverse body characteristics. It was pretty cool, just seeing the siblings together. They seemed to just be... so unique, barely because of their physical appearances, well almost that. It was just an aura that they carried with them, it was... It was almost untouchable, yet approachable.

Knight struggled to ignore the Italian accent, to not make some passing comment about it. He and his cousin were very alike in that way, as well as a few other. "He'll think I've given it to you so that you look like you're paying for it, and the receipt will be made out in your name. So if there's any problems with it you can get your money back whether I'm here or not. Just trust me, this will work." Knight's face was as close to serious as it ever got, which still involved something of a sly smile. No way would the assistant kick them out now, not when they were about to buy one of his prize pieces. It could be years before someone seriously considered forking over that much cash for a saxophone. "You're buying the saxophone you've always wanted, what are you waiting for?"
It was difficult to actually look away from Suki's gaze, intent even in her confusion. Knight wasn't sure he'd met quite such a self-assured woman since Ana, many moons ago. The world, especially the world around this part, made a sport out of beating down strong women until they were broken, dead or both. It took the most indomitable of them to keep standing against the wash of sentiment against them. Knight knew for a fact that he would never have succeeded in his career as a woman, so he made sure to always give thanks that he had been born male. Anything else worked against you in whatever you did, forever. "Just trust me Suki, everything will be fine. It's just a slightly different plan."

Suki looked down at her shoes briefly, thinking about it. Then she lifted her head up, Suki decided to go along with whatever plan he had, it seemed well off, a bit risky. But risk was what Suki was all about, especially in her profession, both of them. Risk was a big part of Suki's life. Knight gave her a small sly smile, she didn't think he was serious even if his eyes expressed it. That sly smile reminded her something like a jokester.
She was slightly speechless, "Uh..." she looked at the counter where the assistant was trying to package her saxophone, obviously Suki was not a Fuego like her brother, River. She still was debating, not brave enough, not good enough to make dreams as a reality. She was an emotional Aqua through and through. But as soon as he assured her that everything would be fine... Suki believed the man. She nodded and walked again, doing that aristocratic stride with her nose up high. She really hoped this worked because this was her being brave. If that was all in vain...
She put down the cash in the counter quickly.

Knight felt a bit bad for forcing her into this situation, after all he had originally told her that he would be paying. However this new plan was much better, it had no loose ends that would need tying, nothing much slap-dash about it at all. She would have a receipt with her name on it, if the guy had somehow ruined the sax or rigged it not to last, and she would always be able to proudly say that she had bought her first saxophone herself. She straightened up, and showed the mettle that he had already been entirely convinced that she had. Cross Suki... whatever her last name was, at your own peril.
There was a bit of vicious pride in Knight as she placed the money on the counter, looking down at the assistant with a sneer that bizarrely did not mar her peerless face in any way. Knight decided to store that particular thought for further analysis, odd as it was. The man was clearly intimidated by them now, they had not acted in any kind of predictable fashion and he obviously just wanted to get them out of the store without insulting them or risking his job. Suki's lack of words did nothing but improve the impression that she was trying to get across. The man finally finished boxing the saxophone, and hurriedly processed the casually placed cash. "Will that be all?" he asked nervously looking up at Suki, and then Knight as he joined her.
"I think so. You fine for reeds, sweetheart? Got everything else you need?" More quietly, just for her, he whispered, "See, no problem!"
