It appeared that the last week or so hadn't gone so smoothly for much of anyone, Nixie quietly thought to herself as she downed another round of moonshine from her seat towards the end of the bar. Between the death of Professor Reid, the torturing of two students, finding out that she had numerous friends on two different sides of a hideous battle, River being beaten to hell and back... Her nerves were shot. Her whole reasoning behind moving to America was so that she might escape war and live a calm, low key life where no one would know who she was or what she had done. Yet, the walls were all falling down around her on all sides, and it seemed things were growing significantly worse with each passing day. She could feel it as she walked through the halls of the school; students were scared, and the staff was on edge with tension that made her uncomfortable.
Even a couple of students seemed to be relishing in the liquid sin of alcohol, which Nixie couldn't really blame them. But, as she eyed Serafina and Theo from across the bar, she wasn't quite sure just how intoxicated the two were until they got up. Nixie herself had been on her fifth round, but her tolerance was probably lethally high. So, with nothing more than a slightly hazy vision, she stood up and followed the two out of the establishment. "Miss Latini, Mister Keating... Too many drinks for you. We go back to the school now," she called out to them, catching up and beginning to stroll alongside the two of them.
The night was beginning to chill, and Nixie pulled her coat around her a bit tighter as they made their way through the vacant streets. It was nearly silent aside from... The sound of struggle? It caused one of Nixie's brows to raise curiously, and as they began to pass an alley, she looked down it and saw two familiar faces hovering over a face she could barely make out. Finley O'Brien, Kyra Boudelaire, and Pietro Antonucchi. What surprised her, though, was when Serafina suddenly called out to her professor... By his first name. She snapped to attention, though, as Serafina lunged forward - quickly tossing a hand out to grab Serafina by the forearm and hurl her back towards Theo. "Both of you go now," she said firmly, the utmost of seriousness in her eyes. "GO!"
Once they took off - Serafina tossed over Theo's shoulder, kicking and screaming, and calling out for her lover - Nixie looked back towards the trio and moved quickly towards them, crouching down by Pietro's side. He looked fucking horrible, and she glared angrily up at the other two as she straightened her legs back out. "What the fuck, Finley?!" She blurted out, pressing her hands to his chest and shoving him back as hard as she could manage. "That's enough!"
