She couldn't sleep in the castle right now. During normal days she would be lucky if she can get her mind to rest enough to get a few hours of sleep, and now with most of the students having nightmares about Professor Reid and Maureen... Annabel sat up in bed and sighed, her mind a floor with other people feeling and she just wanted a few hours of peace, where just mind and soul wasn't filled with the fears and terror of other people. Was that to much to ask? For her to have her own thoughts and feelings that were not clouded out by others? When does she get to be the most important person in her own life? When do her feelings become the one that matters....
Well she could think about those question that seemed to plague her very existence later. Right now she had a blanket in her hands and she was walking barefoot down the grounds and to the lake. Where it was quiet and there was nothing more than a rare spirit that wanted her help but they would wait till later. They understood that their little medium needed sleep, and they were more than willing to help her make a bed of leaves and tuck her in so she could get a few hours of sleep.
Annabel looked around and pushed some more leaves into a pile before spreading out the blanket she brought with her when a noise made her jump "W-Who's there?" She asked voice shaking slightly as she looked up at bit her lip. Please just let it be like Emyr... he sleeps out here alot. Just let it be him.

Arne wad sitting under a tree by the water, basking in the cool night air. He didn't like the castle, it was too confining, too suffocating. He needed to be outside or else he would panic. So here he sat, watching his patronus, an ornery ferret, run around and play. Suddenly without warning, it took off towards a group of chair. "Com back!" He shouted chasing after it. However when he broke through the pushes the patrons vanished, and Arne was standing there looking at a blonde student. "H-hallo..."
Watching the spectral being run around, and run up to the girl, then bounce away, Arne smile. "He... ah... likes you." Arne sat in the grass watching his patronus run around. Arne watched as it ran around, "I am Arne..." He stated softly as he sat ther , staring at the ground.

A ferret? No not like a real ferret thought, someone patrons. What a beautiful and silly little thing. Annabel reach out with her hand to try and get the small thing to come closer when a voice made her recoil and pull away. She looked up and her eyes met that of a boy... a handsome boy. With hair a shade blonder than her own and eyes to die for. She just watched him for a second as that little ferret jump back over to her than ran away and she smiled some. "Hello and yes he does." Annabel said softly as she stood up and dusted off her nightgown. Well this was embarrassing, standing infront of a man in nothing more than her nightgown...
"I'm Annabel-Lee. But everyone just calls me Annabel or just Bel." As she got a little closer to him something in him didn't feel right. On the outside he was shy and nervous... But deep down there was this dark power brooding, raw and angry mixed with the primal need to protect himself. Does she dare ask? She just met him so many she should hold off. "What are you doing out here?"

Watching the little glowing creature run and prance about, Arne smiled, slowly rocking back and forth. This was why he enjoyed his gifts so much, because of things like this. He could conjure so many little critters like this, and it made him so very happy when he did, he didn't feel like an outcast. When the girl introduced herself, ArNE held his hand out to her, that was what Americans did right, when they met, right? "It is... pleasurable to meet you?" He asked more than stated and sighed, "forgive me my English... it... is not my primary language. I believe you would say..."
Hearing her question, he indicated the trees around them. "It is, nice... cool without being cold, warm without being hot..." Looking back in the direction of the school he shook his head and shivered. "There is something not right... it is ah... uncomfortable?" He asked looking back to the girl, he chewed his lip, then asked. "May I call you Bella? It is very... attractive."

"Oh it's alright. You speak english very well for it not being your first language." Annabel said with a soft smile as she shook his hand. He was right about it being a very nice night. And the way he spoke about the school... was he a empath as well? Could he tell there was something wrong about the school ever since professor Gawain had died? No because she didn't feel any of her own emotions in him, just a good shy heart on top and something so dark and angry. It was confusing really, threw her for a loop at how totally different these two parts of him were.
"May I call you Bella? It is very... attractive."
Oh! That was not something she heard everyday and it made her blush like mad as she looked down and said. "Yes of course you can." Wait what she blushing of her own accord? Oh oh dear she wasn't sure if she had ever felt this emotion all on her own before. Normally someone would walk past her and she would get a little hint of this feeling. But never on her own "Thank you." She said softly brushing her hair back some and biting her lip. "I have never had anyone tell me anything about me is attractive before."

Smiling Arne opened the palm of his hand, point it at the sky he looked around then leaned over it. Glancing over at Bella he looked back at his hand, then turning his back to her. Whispering under his breath, Arne smiled as a puff of light showed itself above his hand. Turning back to Bella, Arne kept his hand covered. "Watch..." his voice was quiet, and soft as he concentrated. Putting his hands to his mouth he blew a breath of air into them, before pulling them apart. As he did, a half dozen small blue butterflies flew away, then came back and fluttered about.
Smiling triumphantly, Arne rocked back and forth where he was seated. "Vakker! Vakker!" He shouted, then went wide eyed, and looked around. Returning to Bella, he smiled and looked at the ground, "I do not believe.... you are, ah..." pointing at the butterflies, he waves his hand, "Ah... Vakker... uh, beautiful, Vakker is Norwegian for beautiful." Falling silent again, he stares at the ground, poking the dirt with his finger. "Why are you here?" He asks quietly, drawing circles in the dirt.

He was very quiet, probably due to the struggle with english but that was okay. She was more interested in how he felt, all these emotions he had running through him which were both so light and pure and chilled her to the bone with how dark and scary it was. It also scared her because he just didn't seem to be aware of it. The next thing she knew he was asking her to watch the light he had made in his hand and as he blew on it, it became full of butterflies, perfect little butterflies. Annabel smiled and spun around some as they flew around her and she giggled. "They are..."
But he had said it for her Vakker, beautiful. The girl blushed and looked down. He took a seat on the ground and she did as well. He asked why she was out here and she looked up some and then back at him. "Well... you see I am a empath and a medium. And there are alot of emotions and feelings in the school right now. It can get very overwhelming."

Arne continued to smile shyly, catching the look on her face from the corner of his eye. Pulling his wand from his sleeve, he pointed at the butterflies, then flicked his wrist towards Bella. As if guided by unseen strings, the butterflies shifted their aimless circles, and landed on Bella. Her head, shoulders arms and hands now hand the small creatures of light on them, and Arne smiled, before lookING back to the ground.
When Bella said she was an empath, Arne winced and shook his head. He couldn't even imagine what it had been like for her. To experience that kind of trauma that had happened in the dining hall. He still remember the way that girls body had looked, and it made him sick to think that a teacher would do that. "An empath... that must be... distressing? Yes, distressing at times..."

She was now dipping with butterflies, beautiful tiny little butterflies that made her giggle at the feeling of their feet walking across her skin. "How are you doing this?" She said with her eyes wide as she watched him and the beauty he was creating right now. Each little butterfly a tiny perfect little gift and so unique and wonderful and he made each one just for her. Oh my did she feel speical...
Annabel looked up when he said that he gift must be distressing and she gave a small shrug and a smile. "It is both a gift and a cruse. But I have learned to live within and make the best of it. I have found it can lean to me learning alot about people very quickly. Like you..." She said figuring now would be the best time to ask him what he was hiding in his soul. "Why is there such a darkness buried deep down in your soul? It's like this raw primal anger I do not understand."

"I... it is natural to me... A gift my father says..." Arne shrugged, watching as a butterfly landed on her forehead. His smile creeps onto his face as he sat there watch them. "I've been able to do this, as long as I recall... it is natural..."
Arne stopped drawing in the dirt as Bella questioned him. A darkness, in him? That was impossible, Arne had never hurt anyone. He only cared about his studies, and making friends, though the second part was was far more difficult to do. Still he was not evil, nor was there a darkness inside him. "I don't understand... there is nothing wrong with me..." Arne tensed, as he swalloed, and looked back at the differe. "I'm not a bad person... I'm good.." he mumbled, his arms wrapping aeound his legs, as he set his chin on his knees.

"It's a beautiful gift." She said with a smile as she looked at them all and giggling some. "I wish my gift could create beauty like this. It seem like there is nothing but pain and death that follows me around. But I suppose that is what happens when you spend your time talking to spirit. Death just follows me around." She said softly with a sigh as she watched the butterflies fly off and disappear under the light of the moon. So beautiful and so prefect. Sometimes she wished she was a butterfly and she could fly off into the moon and disappear. She would fly so far away from here...
He didn't believe her words and she titled her head. How did he not know? How was he so out of tune with his own emotions and feelings? Maybe it was because he had kept it so pushed down... But oh he had to know. No one could have this sort of pain in them and not know! So she took his hand and focus some just to make sure she was feeling the right thing. "No... it's not evil Arne. I do not believe in evil. It's just... it's powerful and dark and it's primal. All it knows is protection."

It didn't make any sense, Arne had never had a bad thought. He had always been friendly, never hurt anyone, never wanted to hurt anyone. He wasn't one to be dark, he always tried to avoid getting into fights. Even if others attacked him, he avoided retaliating. She was wrong, she had to be wrong, there was nothing bad inside of him, he was a good person.
When Bella took his hand, he looked up, shaking his hand. "No... that can not... no..." he whispered shaking his head, fingers tightenin slightly around hers. His face was confused, scared even. "I'm not a biolent person, Bella... why would there be darkness..."

He was convinced that there was only good in him and no possible way there could be any violence in him so she decided maybe it was best to just drop the topic. Maybe when she had the energy she could show him but for now she didn't mind just letting the topic at hand go. Annabel smiled and nodded before saying. "There is lots of good too, the sweetest kind of good all warm and pure." Her other hand touched his cheek gentle so his eyes would meet her as she looked into them and smiled. "You are a very lucky man Arne, and I don't know why there would be. There just is. But you know many people have a dark side to them they do not want to admit. Even in me."
Though it had been so long since she had has her own emotions, Annabel might have forgotten what it felt like. Living in isolation like she did when she was younger meant she could focus just on how she felt, but you know one she started to be around other people it became all about how they felt and less about how she felt. Not good at all...

Why would she say these things, he wasn't dark, there was no evil in him. Why would this girl he just met say this? Why would she tell him that she felt a darkness in him. She knew nothing about Arne, whast his life had been like, the kindof of person he was. So what did her opinion count, why should he listen to her? She knew nothing, she was just cruel, insulting him like everyone else had. So why was he here then still? Listening to these cruel words from this stranger that hedidn't even know. With a frustrated sigh, Arne went to stand, only to be halted by the touch of her hand on his cheek.
She was calling him kind now, good, warm, and pure, it did not make sense to him, at all. How could she say there was a primal darkness inside him, yet say he was a good person as well. Arne shifted some to face her, the look onhis face completely confused."I... do not... forstå" He shook his head gently, not wanting her hand to move, "uh... understand..."he shrugged slightly, leaning into the comfort of her hand, and its soft touch. Arne looked into Bellas eyes, and sighed. "How can good and bad... be together.. in one?"

How can good and bad... be together.. in one?
Hm and good question indeed. How does one explain this as simply as possible. "Well, when God made man, he made him from the energy of the world. He took his body from the earth and molded it into his image. And when God created the universe he did so by balancing out the good energy and the bad energy. So the world has the balance of both good and bad energy, and everyone on the inside has both good and bad in them. And it's a rather beautiful thing." She said with a smile only now realizing that they had been holding hands this whole time and...
You know Annabel had often worried that no man would want to marry her because she was so odd. She wander around in her, speaking to the dead and doing all sort of odd little thing proper godly woman do not do. She always figure when she was done with school her father would try and marry her off to some muggle boy from their convocation. But what muggle man would want her? But yet Arne was here, and he hadn't let go of her hand yet. Does that mean... does that mean....
