Pietro had gone off to get River and Jame, though he made it clear he didn't want them to bring him into the dining hall. Just throw him down by the lake and see if he can get himself fixed up. But he couldn't be worried about that right now, he had a plan. He needed to prove that the Antonucchi would not take this lying down, if they wanted to start a war with him he would get a war... And no man, woman or child would be safe from him so long as he could help it.
After all, all is fair in love and war.
All the students were in the hall having dinner as he made his way down the rows and over to podium at the front. Enzo took it and snapped his fingers, causing the sound of a bell to ring throughout the hall "Students may I have attention please." He said voice firm and cold, the sort of voice that would strike fear into the hearts of the weak and inspire those strong enough to join him. "It has come to my attention that this school has a few member in it from a family that has... wronged my own. I believe I speak for all of us when I say that family is the most important thing. So I thought it was important to show this on family that I would not take what they did lightly." Now comes the waiting game for Pietro and River.

She had drifted off. She was somewhere else, in a place that didn't hurt so much.
Having fetched his brother, Pietro returned to the Headmaster's office, scooped up the battered girl, and began the walk to the dining hall.
She was with Fin, in his tiny quarters, looking at pictures.
Her head lolled against his arm, and her legs dangled, making strange popping noises as gravity worked against the shattered bones.
She was six years old and she missed her brother. Dear Fin ... Dear Fin ... Dear Fin ...
He had broken her trust in him. He had betrayed her. He was the worst kind of man.
Professor Holland ... please, don't ...
When he became Don, female pawns would never be tortured.
Brave like Fin, strong like Fin, unafraid SO AFRAID
Had to do what Uncle Enzo ordered.
Had to find Fin, had to hide, had to scream
Game face. Murderous eyes. All the students staring at him as he entered the dining hall and approached his uncle, broken girl in his arms.
Please save me ...

With River and Pietro had separated ways as they got to the school. "I'll dump him near the lake," he told his twin. And with that he had stealthily carried James to the Celestial Lake. Dumping him carelessly near a tree. He sighed, realizing that from carrying James he had soiled his suit with blood. Shame, he was fond of this suit...
He walked back inside the head to the dining hall, his footsteps were quick and silent. He had made the mistake of running his bloodied hands through his hair, thankfully he had dark hair. Though there was a red tint there now. He was quick enough to get to the scene as Pietro stopped out with Maureen's body. His quick and urgent stride over next to his brother who was next to his Uncle.
His eyes cold and emotionless, almost forgetting— almost, that he was now exposed to Nixie. As he realized that, River almost broke his emotionless facade, but remembered that he was in the presence of his uncle. River was slightly worried now, because fuck... Job and interests do not go together often for him. And he felt more worried about the fact that he was worried about Nixie seeing him. Why did he care? Nixie was just another girl, right?

"Ahh there are my favourite nephews." He said with a smile as they walked into the hall, the girl in Pietro arms as Enzo said. "Put her down here." He waited until the man had placed the girl down in front of them and he cleared his throat. "See children we do not live in a easy world. Sometime you have to do do terrible things in order to get what you want." He looked over the room, all eyes glancing between the men at his side and the girl on the floor. He could see the question marks over everyone's head wondering what had happened and why.
"I found out that this little thing is an O'Brien... And well the O'Briens wrong me in the more unnatural and unforgivable of ways. Now... would any O'Briens like to come forward and claim their little bitch of a family member?" He asked giving a look to Pietro and River, telling them to be ready for a fight just in case. "Come on now O'Brien's don't hide. You don't want the world to know you as crowards now do you?"

Aedan was filled with rage. His cousin ... and these filthy Italian dogs ... and no, he was not a coward.
The dining hall was hushed, full of terror and confusion, but Aedan understood what he needed to do. He stood up, jaw clenched, and made his way forward to the place where Maureen had been dumped. Right at the feet of three of his enemies.
Oh, but they wouldn't just murder him, he knew that. They felt they had earned redress. They felt that they were, in some way, even for this moment. Unless Aedan made a move, they would not attack him.
But now they would know exactly who he was.
It didn't matter, and he was not afraid. He would do what he needed to do, and he would make his father proud. Right now, he would help his cousin. Soon, he would speak with his father and the rest of the older O'Briens and, together, they would decide on the wisest course of action.
To be rash, after all, often led to death.
So Aedan knelt over his cousin, placed a tender kiss on her forehead, and gathered her into his arms. Then he stood and stared for a long moment into each pair of hard Italian eyes.
"You will pay dearly for this." His voice was steady and his heartbeat was calm. There was no intelligent tactical reason for them to kill him now. He needn't be afraid. He was not a coward.
So, with that, Aedan turned his back on his enemies and walked down the center aisle of the dining hall, Maureen in his arms.

"Oh my goodness, Theo, stop it!" Serafina's cheeks were redder than the half-eaten apple resting on her plate as her best friend toyed with her over their Potions professor. Even though her voice shrieked in appall, the smile on her face that didn't fade showed that she wasn't genuinely offended by his playful words. "I so do not have a 'thing' for Professor Holland... I mean, he's pretty handsome, but no! He's way too old for me," she told her friend, waving her hand dismissively over the matter.
But before she could be pestered by him further, the double doors leading into the dining hall swung open to make way for their Headmaster, who approached the podium and began saying something along the lines of family and how his had been wronged by another. What was this about? Did he think the students had some sort of involvement in the matter? Or maybe some of the professors? Even so, wouldn't that be a subject better discussed in privacy? It was all so confusing.
Then, though, her jaw fell open as Pietro entered the room, and not in the awestruck, flabbergasted way in which it usually fell open. No, this was a jaw drop made of pure terror as she took in the body of Maureen White - a younger Terra student - that was mangled, broken, and torn apart. Pietro joined the Headmaster at the podium, and only moments later, his twin brother entered the room in a bloodied suit and joined the two. The Headmaster referred to them as his nephews, and Serafina instantly knew that those words meant he was most definitely involved in whatever was happening here. She wanted to believe that River had done it and that Pietro had just simply carried the girl, but that murderous look in his eyes proved otherwise to her.
Her hand jolted to the side and gripped Theo's until her knuckles turned white, but she couldn't tare her eyes away from the man she had fallen in love with. But, no... That wasn't her Pietro up there. Her Pietro was sweet and caring and loved his students. He respected women and would never do such a horrendous thing to that poor girl, so... Who was this man standing up at the front of the dining hall? Her hands were shaking uncontrollably, and her eyes began to water as she just stared at him in a petrified manner - completely unable to move. She wanted to cry and scream and freak out over everything, and she hardly even noticed Samuel collecting Maureen. This confirmed, though, that there were certainly some secret activities taking place in the school.
But the most painful thing she realized was...
'I fell in love with a monster.'

Annabel wasn't planning on being in the dining hall for long. It was too many people all in one room for her, too many emotions and she knew she that she couldn't handle all that energy for long. But then when the headmaster came in and started to speak she knew she couldn't leave right in the middle. So she sat next to Delia and gave a nervous smile, hopefully this didn't take to long. Because there were people scared and upset and bored and complacent and it's just to much for the heart of one little empath to take...
But the Professor Holland came in and Annabel was hit with a pain like never before. Worst than when she found Emyr all beat up, or when she found Theodore out behind the greenhouse, the only thing it didn't compare to is when her mother gave birth but it was pretty close. She started to shake and hyperventilate, her fingers gripping at her skirt as she tried to get control of her breathing but she wanted to tear her brain out in order to stop feeling all this...
And then Samuel got up and there it was, that raw power, hate and anger she felt that day down on the pitch but she didn't understand how strong it was until now. She didn't see that it glowed white hot and made her tense in the most uncomfortable of ways. "Make it stop..." She said tears starting to roll down her cheeks. "I need it to stop..."

Everything had been going so nicely. She had been speaking with Annabel and Delia ... well, more listening, but that was all right ... and then everything went wrong.
Mary was completely dumbstruck. What was the kind professor doing with an injured student in his arms? He couldn't have ... this couldn't be ... oh, no. Everything was suddenly bad, so bad.
She leaned closer to Annabel, seeking comfort, feeling terrible for the sweet empath. Mary put her arms around Annabel and stared in horror at the events unfolding in front of them.

What the...
There was so much blood, and it was everywhere. It was time to set herself free after being her own prisoner of war fighting alongside her fellow Germans in a war of wrongness. It had been nearly two years since she was stolen from her home - since she had seen her parents, her brother, and anyone she had ever known - and forced into battle, and now it was time to strike back. After doing exactly what she was told by destroying the lives of hundreds of other men - four in particular that weren't even yet men - she had finally forced herself out of the mindset they had forced her under. If she didn't survive this, then so be it. Truthfully, she didn't deserve to survive anyway.
Every man that died that day had deserved it. They were wretched people with skewed values and zero virtues, who had committed some of the foulest of crimes she had ever seen in her life. Raping, pillaging, and looting absolutely any and every thing in sight no matter the cost. Even she had been taken advantage of on a regular basis due to her being the only woman in her squadron, and those stupid bastards were too dense to realize just how strong she was becoming. They only saw her as a basic woman - despite her mastery of assassination - due to her lack of thinking for herself, but they would learn differently today..
The brutalized girl in Pietro's arms sent her back to some place she didn't want to be. All she could see was red and the bodies of men lying all around her in shattered pieces. She had mutilated them, removing different pieces from certain people. Each and every one of them had to pay for their crimes against humanity - not that she was innocent in that aspect - and she was about to bring that justice down on them even if it made her more corrupt than she already was. Some of them lost eyes, others had limbs ripped from sockets before they were bludgeoned to death with their own appendages, and some were just plain gutted - their intestines spilling out of their open wounds to splatter the ground in a sea of violent red.
There was only one thing to bring her back from these horrific nightmares, and that was the sight of River. He was coated in blood, and he joined the other two men just as casually, which struck her down to her core. What... What had he done? Was he just as bad as she was? She began to panic, her breathing growing erratic at her blood pressure skyrocketed. It felt as if the room was closing in around her, and she almost felt the absurd instinct to rip River and Pietro's heads off before rolling them down the center aisle like bowling balls.
'No, that's not who you are!'
Her student was crumpled, and she hadn't prevented it... That was why she took this job - to protect her students. And she had trusted the Holland professors.. She considered both of them her friends, and now she saw their true agendas...

Eating in the dining hall had been something of an experiment the last couple of weeks. He felt so exposed, sitting in the middle of so many people, eating food that he hadn't prepared himself. It was okay, now, it wasn't like he had any other choice given that he didn't even know where the kitchen was. The food was alright, significantly more rich than anything he was used to. Emyr tried not to think about the results of that on his first night. On top of his general discomfort, everyone else that he had met belonged to other houses. Eating was something of a lonely time still, but when the headmaster appeared at the front of the hall, things changed a tad.
His first thought was that there had been an attack, that some crazed fool had taken it upon themselves to attack a student that he hadn't yet met. Then it occurred to him that no reasonable person would take the victim of an attack to present to a horde of schoolchildren. How, the fuck was this the headmaster of the school? He looked in outright astonishment as the headmaster started spouting some self-righteous bullshit, and taunted another student to take their broken relative away from who was clearly a madman. "What the fuck? What the absolute fucking hell?" he said, just above a whisper, easily heard by the students around him.
"Because clearly the coward here is the teenager who is helping his tortured cousin, and not the grown men who tortured her." That time, his voice sang out like a bell, and his disbelief and anger were obvious for all to see. Who would do such a thing?

He couldn't believe his eyes. He knew the that the Antoncchi had a foothold in the school but this? Torturing a student in order to get at the O'Brien's. Gawain wanted no part in this fight, he never wanted to be working for the O'Briens but at the end of the day he did, and he didn't want to see any members of their family hurt, especially a powerless child who did nothing wrong and had no business getting involved with this fight. And Pietro... Pietro was behind all this? The only other teacher in this school that he trusted. Who always said he would never hurt a student, would protect them from his brother wrath at times... now here telling the whole world that he was an Antonucchi and that he would torture a small helpless girl if his uncle told him.
"How?" He said standing up and moving over to where the men stood. "She's just a child Pietro how could you." Yeah okay so he was pretty much giving it away that he was a O'Brien member and that he was not going to stand for this.
"Well well Mr Reid, what are you trying to say here? Working for Irish scum are we? I should have know..." Enzo said and Gawain just ignored him. He could care less about that man right now his attention focus only on Pietro, the anger in him building every second the other man just stood there.
"They trusted you... It's your fucking job to protect them!" The response he was looking for didn't come fast enough from the italian man so he moved up to Pietro and grabbed him by the collar. "Say something you son of a bitch!"
Then he was hit by a bolt of red light, dropping to the ground in pain as Enzo looking over at Pietro and in italian said just two worlds. "Kill him."

Post by Hallie Keating on Jun 29, 2015 19:11:44 GMT -5
After yet another day of having her brain stretched by classes and schoolwork, Hallie was relieved to sit down to a nice, casual dinner with some of her friends. Despite seeing them that last week out at the lake, she really hadn't had a chance to sit down and ask either Mary, Annabel, or Cordelia how their summers had been. She had hoped, for their sake, that their days had been filled with nothing but peace and amusement, because what teenage girl didn't deserve that?
She giggled as they took turns exchanging words to each other, and for a while, Hallie had genuinely enjoyed the company and how the evening was turning out. That was, until, the Headmaster's booming voice rang in her ears, and she cringed, lifting her gaze to follow his voice, that was now coming near the front of the dining hall. The room fell silent as he began to speak, then motioned down near the entrance, where, when she turned her head once more, Hallie noticed the horror that was unfolding for all of them. Professor River Holland, one of her professors, walking idly beside Professor Pietro Holland, who happened to be her favorite teacher. In his arms laid a girl, broken an unconscious, and she gasped in complete and total shock. What the hell was happening?! She barely had the chance to blink her eyes before witnessing Samuel stand from across the room and make his way to stand in front of the Headmaster and the two other professors. With a swift motion, he picked up the girl, whom Hallie was finally able to recognized as Maureen, and she gasped again, only this time, much louder.
She excused herself from the table and hastily rounded the benches and then moved to meet Samuel, who was quickly pacing down the length of the hall, cradling Maureen to his chest. Hallie strider over next to him, then peered down at the poor girl, frowning deeply.
"I want to come with you, Sam," she told him firmly. "I want to help her."

This was not a human moment. He couldn't allow this to be a human moment. He couldn't look at Serafina, even though his heart was pulled to her, responding to the call of her soul. He could not be sweet, compassionate "Professor Holland" right now. He was Pietro Antonucchi. He was the presumptive heir, the golden child, the one on whom Uncle Enzo had pinned all his hopes.
Pietro owed everything to the man standing beside him. It did not matter if he considered him crass, overly cruel, unnecessarily sadistic. Uncle Enzo had given him everything he had ever wanted. Family was the priority; family had to be the priority.
Interesting. Samuel Smythe. There had always been a certain hardness to the boy, a certain strangeness to the way his eyes never looked fully human. Now Pietro understood why. He crossed his arms over his chest and watched as the young O'Brien collected his cousin. He scoffed at "Samuel's" threatening words. A child ... how simple it would all be, in the end, to kill this young man.
When the time came. When the time was right.
"Professor Holland" raged in Pietro's head, locked away, unable to protect the students he loved so much, unable to stop what was happening. "Professor Holland" was subordinate, unnecessary.
Another interesting piece of information: his suspicions about Gawain, completely justified. What a shame. A good man, mostly. "They trusted you!"
"Professor Holland" wept. Pietro remained calm and sturdy. He stared into Gawain's eyes. "Say something, you son of a bitch!" And then Enzo dropped him and gave his order, so Pietro took a step forward and placed one shiny shoe on Gawain's throat, slowly drawing his wand.
"You creased my collar. How humiliating that it is the worst you will do to me. AVADA KEDAVRA!"
A jet of green light. Gawain was dead underneath his foot.
Pietro straightened his tie.

River could honestly roll his eyes stupid, but he didn't. They were his only nephews. He kept his eyes glazed over and empty, looking straight ahead. Then he locked eyes with Samuel, emotionless. Nothing was currently in his eyes, not even the guilt that he felt for Nixie. He didn't know what it was, betrayal? Lying? What did he do to her and make him feel so guilty like this? He knew for the first time that he had met Nixie, all he had been is a big ball of confusion, hate, and lust, and a little of everything else.
But now he could do nothing but just stand there like a hollowed statue, ready to fight though he hadn't actually drawn his wand out. River didn't need to, he had reflexes like a cat and quite frankly he could do a lot on his own without magic. River was exceptionally skilled with dueling or just fighting in general, his unpredictable nature made him an ever more dangerous enemy. Though that same nature can cause him to sometimes be horribly brash. He had his hands behind his back, in a stance of a soldier. That was what he was right now, after all.
He sneaked a glance to the glazed look that Nixie had. He saw the same one when they had the date, he felt bad... But he was conflicted because at the same time he was feeling awful, he was trying to counter that with trying to convince himself that she was just... a girl. River was silent and even looked immensely bored as the students started to ring out comments. They didn't know, the lot of them none of them knew the extent of what the mafia could be. They were the cowards, not them. The broken ones, the ones who had to kill for family, who had to torture to survive. So when Gawain had gone up to his brother, that's when he drew his wand out. But he knew there was no need for it, but one can never be too sure.
River was still devoid of emotions as Pietro killed their co-worker. His gaze leaving the scene and simply looking at one of the window, his empty gaze showed how unaffected he was. Simply, despite the shame they had brought to their enemies as of now, he seemed crestfallen. He would usually take small pleasure, but nope. He looked about ready to do his sigh and do his job obediently.
